Guess what turned up today, specially delivered from the publishers via FedEx? Yes, I got my copies of my new book (and kit), Star Wars Even More Crochet, which has just come out in the US.
I think the box looks really good, I love seeing how nicely my figures photograph when the professionals do it, the design on the front and back looks great, and then you can see a photo of each character around the edges.
Inside the box you get the book with all twelve patterns, and then the yarn and everything else you need to make the Jawa and BB-8 - that includes a crochet hook, the eyes, a yarn needle, and don't forget to look under the packaging to find the stuffing.
For anyone else who's got or is going to get it, I've added the list of yarn I used to the post I wrote about the first book, Star Wars crochet - yarn used, hopefully that will help you find the yarn you will need for the rest of the characters.
I hope you have fun with it!

Star Wars Even More Crochet
I finished work on all my patterns for the new Star Wars Crochet book a little while ago, but I've now been given the publication date. Star Wars Even More Crochet will be available (in the US at least) in March 2017. I know that seems a long way away, but it takes that long to produce.
The book is part of a kit that will include all the materials and the patterns to make a Jawa and BB-8, and the patterns for Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Kylo Ren, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lando Calrissian, Admiral Ackbar, Nien Nunb, Greedo and the Cantina Band.

Leesub Sirln
Last year I was contacted by a lady asking if I would make a custom Star Wars amigurumi for a friend. Well, I don't normally make the toys, only the patterns, but when she said her friend had actually appeared in the original Star Wars, I couldn't refuse. Her friend is Pam Rose, and she played an alien in the background of the Cantina scene, called Leesub Sirln. I must have seen the character lots of time creating part of the atmosphere of the Cantina, but I wasn't quite sure what she looked liked so I went to her website to check - a beautiful leggy alien with a large head.
I made the amigurumi to the same scale as my other Star Wars characters - getting the head just the right shape and working out the unusual hairstyle was an interesting challenge, and it wasn't easy to get the detail into her minimal costume, but I think I did it.
Mini Leesub was given to Pam for Christmas, and apparently she was very pleased with it. She very kindly sent me a signed photo, and I'm very happy to have made a figure for the person who actually portrayed the character!
